As i have mentioned already The Offspring are my fave band and have been for 5 years now!
The Beginning
It all started way back in 1984 when The Offspring (then called Manic Subsidal)burst onto the Californian Punk Scene. The first line up way back in 1984 was Dexter Holland,Greg K,Doug Thompson and Jim Benton.They were inspired to create a band when Dexter and Greg heard TSOL's Change Today at a party.Thompson was forced out of the band which then left Dexter to take over vocals and drummer James Lilja replaced Benton.Noodles then joined later.

Debut
Manic Subsidal was rechristened The Offspring in 1985.Their debut single 'i'll be waiting' was released on their own black label.By 1987 Lilja was losing interest in the band and was replaced for a Las Vegas show by Ron Welty he then joined permanently in July 1987.In 1989 they recorded their first album on Nemesis.The album was called 'The Offspring'.
